Jason Baehr, Executive Chef of FireFly American Bistro, set out to create something warm and inviting when he founded FireFly. FireFly is his home away from home, and he wanted the food and the atmosphere to reflect this. For himself, our staff and our guests.
As a young child, Jason was constantly around family members who cooked everything from scratch. With love. He grew up participating in large family gatherings and grew to love entertaining.
After high school, Jason set off to make his dream a reality. He attended Kent State University where he received his undergraduate degree in Hospitality Management. He then decided to pursue culinary college and went to Napa Valley to study at the Culinary Institute of America. He spent three years in the kitchen at the Ritz Carlton on Amelia Island and two years at the Ritz Carlton in Naples before moving toColumbus to be closer to family.
All through his career and experience, Jason knew he wanted to have something of his own. He wanted to create something for his family and dedicate his time and energy to a business of his own. From this dream, FireFly was born.
